About
Welcome! I specialize in working with individuals that identify with the Highly Sensitive Person trait- a term coined and researched by Dr. Elaine Aron: hsperson.com
As a Highly Sensitive Therapist, I understand the complexities of navigating life from a slightly different lens. I am a passionate teacher and avid learner of how sensitivity affects us- from our day to day lives to differences in the brain and body. I am always looking for new ways to help you embrace your trait rather than feeling it is something to be endured. I provide an encouraging environment with warmth, compassion, and a good dose of humor. When I’m not doing therapy, you can usually find me in nature - anywhere in or near the water. I also enjoy painting, dancing and learning about body language. As a health coach and educator for almost 6 years, I have a special interest in nutrition and holistic wellness.
Approach
I am an intuitive healer. My intuition guides me in working with you on a soul-to-soul level, to help you align with your inner knowing. I believe we all have a deep desire to be seen and acknowledged for how we show up in the world. I put a strong emphasis on the relationship between emotions and the body and how other energies affect us. Emotions are not right or wrong, good or bad, they are simply energy in motion. In sessions, I help you understand how faulty thinking patterns may be keeping you stuck. Much more important than any technique, studies show the most important predictor of successful therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. I work hard to understand each individual and want you to leave sessions feeling more hopeful and confident. Therapy is a collaborative journey, but you set the pace.
I especially enjoy helping other therapists do their own inner healing in order to do the important work they feel called to do. I am a certified brainspotting practitioner, a highly effective method of working through trauma and/or negative experiences. I have found brainspotting to be especially helpful when working with highly sensitive people.
